SquishySquad is a collection of 8888 utility-based NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. This was the second project on the JRNY Club launchpad back in 2021, right after Shopverse.

The founder is Brandon Chin (BentoBoi), who is a cryptocurrency and NFT influencer with over 53,000 subscribers on YouTube and close to 300,000 followers on Twitter.

Ricecake is the team manager, and GOOF is in charge of head development.

There are at least 12 more people involved in helping the project, with their roles ranging from artists and graphic designers, to event coordinators and discord moderators.

NFTs

SquishySquad is a collection of 8888 utility-based NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. They were successfully minted out in full on the 12th of December 2021 for the price of 0.08 eth on public mint, where people could mint up to 4 NFTs per wallet. Around half of the collection was sold out a day earlier through presale mint for whitelisted wallets.

They were one of the first projects on the JRNY Club launchpad, with 4735 JRNY Club membership pass holders eligible to mint SquishySquad.

Today, the collection sits on 0.1 floors. There are very few whale holders, and the relation between the amount of all NFTs in the collection and unique wallet addresses is relatively healthy, with 8888 to 5400. In the past, there have been two spikes in the price above 0.4.

Buying a Squish gives holders access to their private discord channels, where they can find custom bots that provide real-time data and notifications on the NFT market.

There is also a launchpad, exclusive talks with industry experts and influencers, one-of-a-kind metal prints of your Squish, real-life meetups, private NFT videos, newsletters, physical utility drops, AMA’s with founders, and partnerships with other NFT projects.

On May 21th, 2022, they introduced SUGMA, a discord-based community token that can be exchanged for whitelist spots, physical items, and more.

Closing Thoughts

They are dangerously cute indeed. Art is relatable and adequately designed for mass adoption, with many of their holders putting Squishies on as the PFP. Their website is very basic and does not contain much additional information. The same goes for their roadmap.

One of the biggest perks I remember holders being stoked about back in late 2021 and early 2022 was their whitelist opportunities.

People called BentoBoi the god of partnerships. He could secure high-profile upcoming mints for desirable NFT collections, which is surprising for a smaller collection.

In this bear market, their floor has decreased, which is natural, but the team is determined to build and expand regardless. Currently, they are making the right moves with their latest venture into the Gridcraft ecosystem as one of their genesis partners.
