- Ronin Network records two million daily active users, surpassing Tron and Solana.
- Significant user growth attributed to popular games like Pixels and Axie Infinity on Ronin.
- Jeffrey Zirlin emphasizes community building and user-friendly approaches to attract gamers to Web3.
Ronin Network has recently achieved a significant milestone by becoming the leader in daily active users among blockchain networks, with a record two million users on July 29. This achievement places Ronin ahead of other well-known networks like Tron and Solana, which reported 1.8 million and 1.2 million users, respectively, on the same day.
Strategic Gaming Integration
The surge in Ronin’s user base is largely due to its focused approach on integrating popular gaming titles into its ecosystem. Jeffrey Zirlin, co-founder of Sky Mavis—the team behind Ronin—highlighted several games that have contributed to this growth. For instance, the player-versus-player game Wildforest and the open-world survival game Lumiterra have both seen increases in player engagement. Furthermore, the farming simulator Pixels experienced a dramatic rise in daily active users, jumping from 4,000 to 800,000 after transitioning to Ronin from another blockchain in late 2023.
Community and Growth Tactics
Zirlin also noted the revitalization of Axie Infinity, a flagship game of the Ronin network, which saw its active addresses increase from 12,000 in April to 60,000 in July. He attributes this growth not only to the games themselves but also to a robust community strategy that focuses on inclusivity and easy entry into the Web3 space. According to Zirlin, half of all Ronin users are newcomers to Web3, many of whom were introduced by friends or family members.
This community-centric approach has been instrumental in Ronin’s success, as it contrasts with the more technical and esoteric focuses of other blockchain networks. By prioritizing user onboarding and engagement through accessible and enjoyable gaming experiences, Ronin aims to continue leading in bringing everyday people into the Web3 ecosystem. This strategy underscores Sky Mavis’s commitment to not only expand its user base but also to sustain its growth through strategic game development and community engagement.
