- Interactive Brokers has introduced cryptocurrency staking for eligible clients, expanding its digital asset services beyond trading and transfers.
- Ethereum is the first supported cryptocurrency, with staking available through the broker’s Client Portal and infrastructure provided by zerohash.
- Staking rewards are credited as additional staked ETH, allowing eligible clients to earn compounding rewards while their holdings remain staked.
Interactive Brokers has expanded its cryptocurrency services with the launch of Ethereum staking for eligible clients.
The brokerage now allows qualifying customers to stake their ETH directly through its Client Portal, adding a yield-generating feature to its existing digital asset platform.

Crypto infrastructure provider zerohash will handle the staking services, while rewards will be distributed as additional staked Ethereum.
The launch marks another step in Interactive Brokers’ efforts to integrate cryptocurrency services into its traditional brokerage platform.
Interactive Brokers Adds Ethereum Staking Rewards
At launch, the new staking service is limited to Ethereum.
Eligible customers can stake their ETH holdings and receive rewards in the form of additional staked tokens.
Those rewards can compound over time as long as the position remains staked.
Interactive Brokers CEO Milan Galik compared the service to the brokerage’s existing Stock Yield Enhancement Program, which allows customers to earn additional income from eligible shares.
“Similar to how our Stock Yield Enhancement Program allows clients to earn additional income on shares they own, staking gives clients an opportunity to earn rewards on the cryptocurrency they own,” Galik said.
“We want clients to earn more from the assets they hold,” he added.

Interactive Brokers Expands Crypto Services
Interactive Brokers first introduced cryptocurrency trading in 2021 through a partnership with Paxos.
The brokerage expanded its supported digital assets in early 2025, adding more cryptocurrencies to its trading platform.
In January 2026, Interactive Brokers also introduced round-the-clock account funding using USDC.
The feature allows customers to fund their accounts using stablecoins outside traditional banking hours, supporting access to trading services around the clock.
Ethereum staking adds another service to the brokerage’s growing cryptocurrency offering, giving eligible clients an alternative to simply holding or trading ETH.
Traditional Brokerages Expand Into Staking
Interactive Brokers’ latest move comes as traditional financial institutions continue expanding their involvement in digital assets.
Morgan Stanley has reportedly applied for a national trust bank charter that would allow it to custody cryptocurrencies and offer staking and trading services to investment clients.
The development highlights growing interest among established financial firms in offering crypto services beyond basic buying and selling.
For Interactive Brokers, the addition of Ethereum staking provides eligible customers with another way to participate in the cryptocurrency market through an existing brokerage account.
The company has not announced when additional cryptocurrencies might become available for staking.
