Popular fashion brand Gucci declares its affiliation with the Bored Ape Yacht Club. The August 1 announcement stated that it will now begin accepting ApeCoin (APE) as payment besides 12 other cryptocurrencies. This will also bring potentially new groundbreaking collaboration projects and could add more value to APE.
All customers in the US can now purchase Gucci items in the physical stores using APE.
Projects Still Going Strong Amidst Bear Market
Gucci is relatively new to the blockchain world. Only last February, it initiated its own NFT collection: SUPERGUCCI.
This project involved SUPERPLASTIC: a toy brand that focuses on vinyl collectibles and figures. Gucci followed it up with the Gucci Grail: another NFT collection that brought attention to NFT project owners including BAYC and CryptoPunks.
Finally, in May, the brand told that the 111 stores in the US will accept cryptocurrencies as payment.
These include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Wrapped Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Shiba Inu, Dogecoin, Litecoin, and USD stablecoins.
The initial Gucci Grail successfully got the attention of BAYC collectors, with some on Twitter claiming that they bought Gucci merchandise using crypto. The latest APE payment news will bring new positivity to the BAYC community.
Projects Still Going Strong Amidst Bear Market
It seems like the current recession doesn’t stop companies from making new innovations. Even though the markets have been rough for both crypto and stocks, Gucci is still in full throttle in its NFT collections.
The brand also plans to collaborate with other projects as well to shed new light on Gucci customers unfamiliar with blockchain transactions and to set a new trend for fashion.
Other fashion brands, including Dolce & Gabbana, Adidas, Nike, Louis Vuitton, and Prada have joined in on the NFT craze, all claiming that this is the future of fashion and not a short-term trend.
