Gaming Ape Club is an NFT collection for those passionate about gaming and NFTs. Its mission is to strengthen the bridge between traditional gaming and NFTs by providing tangible value and benefits for holders and integration with metaverse and P2E communities. The motto that they use is: “Hold to earn. Game to earn.”
Their core team is doxxed and consists of David (CEO), Luke (COO), Justin (CFO), Alex (CIO), Nick (CMO), and Cory (developer). NFTLlama is their advisor.
Their partnerships include Roo Troop, Degen Pass, Llamaverse, Asteria Labs, Gamers Outreach, and PowerGPU (A company that specializes in the customized building of PCs.) They are also one of the genesis partners recently integrated into the Gridcraft ecosystem.
NFTs
There are 6550 Gaming Ape Club utility-based NFTs available on the Ethereum blockchain. The mint went live on March 24th, 2022, for 0.08 Ethereum per NFT. Six thousand people were eligible to mint their Gaming Apes through a whitelist, leaving only 500 reserves for the public mint.
Due to their belief that long-term loyal holders deserve more rewards, GAC has a “diamond hands mechanism” where holders that stake their NFTs can earn progressively more substantial rewards based on time held. 72% of Gaming Apes are currently staked; thus, the percentage of owners displayed by OpenSea is incorrect.
Owning a Gaming Ape allows holders to be eligible for participation in whitelist spots for other projects that GAC does collaborations with, allows them to participate in shaping the project’s future by adding suggestions, have access to an exclusive Discord community, and earn GAC XP.
Token
Gaming Ape Club has their native Discord currency called “GAC XP.” There are many ways to earn this XP. For example, you get two exp just by engaging in their chat in the Discord server every 5 minutes and typing “!work” every 8 hours. Other ways include staking NFTs, participating in tournaments and events, P2E integrations such as playing Gridcraft, and showing support on Twitter. 10% of the funds from mint were reserved for these distributions to holders.
Those that stake their Gaming Apes are eligible to purchase a GAC Supply Crate using GAC XP. Holders can find a variety of things inside these crates, such as:
- Whitelist spots to other projects
- NFTs
- Gift cards
- Gaming products
- Discord roles
- In-game currencies (Apex coins, Valorant points, V-bucks, etc.)
Closing Thoughts
Their NFTs remind me a bit of the HAPE Prime art style. They seem well positioned within their own gaming NFT niche, securing the right partnerships and hosting regular events. Also, their floor still holds almost 2x from their mint price, which is impressive for the current market circumstances.
Surprisingly, for a newer and smaller collection with a floor below 0.5, you can find very detailed and extensive documentation on their project. This shows that the team is dedicated to following through with what their project is about. So far, there have not been any significant slips-ups by the team.
