- XRP surged nearly 40% this week, leading a broad crypto rally as Bitcoin briefly climbed above $79,000.
- Hyperliquid, Zcash and Chainlink each gained more than 30%, while Bitcoin and Ethereum rose between 24% and 28%.
- Analysts point to spot and ETF demand, improving U.S. crypto regulation and stronger market liquidity as key forces supporting the move.
Bitcoin’s biggest weekly rally in two years has spread across the broader crypto market, with several major altcoins posting even larger gains.
Bitcoin briefly crossed $79,000 on Friday as buying momentum continued following this week’s historic short squeeze. Unlike some previous rallies that were concentrated in a small group of tokens, analysts say the latest move has been much broader.
Nexo Dispatch analyst Iliya Kalchev said that breadth could be important because narrow rallies have historically been more difficult to sustain. Bitcoin is also seeing support from spot and ETF demand, though analysts are watching whether BTC can remain above $70,000 once the impact of forced short liquidations fades.
XRP Jumps Nearly 40%
XRP has emerged as one of the strongest performers, gaining around 39% this week and climbing above $1.40 for the first time in months.

Kalchev said XRP may be benefiting from an increasingly favorable U.S. regulatory environment. Optimism surrounding crypto legislation and regulatory rulemaking could be particularly important for XRP given its history of regulatory uncertainty.
Other major altcoins have joined the move. Chainlink and Zcash gained more than 30% during the week, while Solana and Cardano also posted strong advances.
Hyperliquid Hits Another Record
Hyperliquid gained roughly 37% this week and reached a new all-time high near $78 on Friday.
The token received another boost after President Donald Trump said the CFTC is working to bring Hyperliquid into the United States in a “fully compliant and legal fashion.”

The possibility of gaining access to the U.S. market has added another catalyst for HYPE at a time when investors are already rotating into higher-performing altcoins.
Bitcoin Rally Spreads Across Crypto
Bitcoin and Ethereum have gained between 24% and 28% this week, helping lift sentiment throughout the market.
Analysts remain divided over what initially triggered Bitcoin’s breakout. Bernstein has pointed to expanded U.S. Treasury buybacks as a potential liquidity catalyst, while others argue the market may be overstating their impact.
Looking ahead, institutional ETF inflows, regulatory developments and continued spot demand could determine whether the rally has staying power. Bitcoin holding above $70,000 would provide another indication that the move is developing beyond the short squeeze that helped accelerate the initial breakout.
