  • U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $650 million in inflows over three days, with significant contributions from BlackRock and Fidelity.
  • Despite recent inflows, Bitcoin price struggles to recover, remaining below $60,000 since July 4.
  • German federal police’s Bitcoin sell-off surpasses U.S. ETF inflows, impacting overall market stability.

Over the past three trading days, starting from July 5, investors have directed approximately $650 million into U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs. This surge in investment includes substantial inflows to major funds such as BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust and Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund. On July 9 alone, the iShares Bitcoin Trust welcomed $121 million, while the Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund added $91 million to its holdings. This activity contributed to a total of $216.4 million worth of Bitcoin, equating to 3,760 units of the cryptocurrency, being infused into the market on that day, as reported by Farside Investors.

This influx of capital into Bitcoin ETFs is noteworthy, especially considering the cryptocurrency’s inability to rise above the $60,000 mark since July 4. Currently, Bitcoin hovers around $59,165, reflecting a nearly 15% decline over the past month, according to TradingView.

Market Dynamics and International Influence

Despite the optimistic inflows, the U.S. Bitcoin ETF market faces challenges from international activities. Notably, Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office has been actively reducing its holdings of the cryptocurrency. Following the seizure of nearly 50,000 Bitcoins during an investigation into a movie pirating website, the BKA began liquidating its assets on June 19, intensifying its efforts in early July.

Arkham Intelligence reveals that the BKA’s Bitcoin wallet transactions included large-scale transfers to and from centralized exchanges and market makers, totaling over $850 million since July 5. The remaining balance in the BKA’s wallet now stands at 23,960 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $1.4 billion.

This substantial sell-off by the German police contrasts with the inflows into U.S. ETFs, underscoring the complex dynamics that influence Bitcoin’s market price. As the landscape for cryptocurrency continues to evolve, these financial movements highlight the interplay between institutional investment vehicles and broader market activities, shaping the trajectory of Bitcoin’s value in the global economy.
