- SK Group and NVIDIA have unveiled a partnership valued at more than $500 billion to expand next-generation AI infrastructure.
- The collaboration covers AI factories, cloud computing, and a long-term AI memory supply agreement centered on SK hynix’s HBM technology.
- The companies aim to position South Korea as a leading global hub for artificial intelligence development and deployment.
SK Group and NVIDIA have announced a sweeping partnership worth more than $500 billion, marking one of the largest AI infrastructure collaborations unveiled to date.
The agreement spans multiple areas of the AI ecosystem, including the construction of AI factories, expansion of cloud infrastructure, and a long-term supply partnership for advanced AI memory chips.

Building on their longstanding relationship, the two companies say the initiative is designed to meet the rapidly growing global demand for AI computing while strengthening South Korea’s position in the global AI race.
Massive AI Infrastructure Expansion Planned
A cornerstone of the partnership is the development of a 2-gigawatt AI Cloud in South Korea by SK Telecom.
The platform will be built using NVIDIA’s DSX AI factory architecture, combining NVIDIA’s accelerated computing hardware, software, and networking technologies with SK hynix’s next-generation HBM4 memory.
According to the companies, the first AI factory is expected to begin operations in 2027, supporting sovereign AI, enterprise AI, agentic AI, and physical AI applications throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
NVIDIA and SK hynix Deepen AI Memory Alliance
Alongside the infrastructure buildout, SK hynix has entered into a long-term AI memory partnership with NVIDIA.
The agreement is intended to provide NVIDIA with a reliable supply of next-generation high-bandwidth memory while allowing SK hynix to expand production as demand for AI accelerators continues to rise.

The two companies also plan to jointly develop future AI memory technologies, including new generations of HBM, optimized for increasingly demanding workloads such as large language model training, autonomous AI agents, and robotics.
Expanding Access to AI Computing
The partnership is also expected to broaden access to large-scale AI infrastructure for businesses.
By investing in shared AI cloud resources, SK Telecom aims to make expensive AI computing capacity available to a wider range of enterprise customers rather than limiting access to only the largest organizations.
The companies say this approach will help accelerate AI adoption while lowering barriers to entry for businesses seeking advanced computing resources.
South Korea Eyes Global AI Leadership
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said South Korea already possesses many of the ingredients needed to become a global AI powerhouse, pointing to its advanced semiconductor industry, networking infrastructure, and industrial scale.
SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won echoed that vision, stating that combining SK hynix’s leadership in AI memory with SK Telecom’s infrastructure capabilities and NVIDIA’s AI platform could help transform South Korea from a major AI adopter into one of the world’s leading AI innovation hubs.
As governments and technology companies continue investing heavily in artificial intelligence, the partnership underscores the growing strategic importance of AI infrastructure, advanced semiconductors, and cloud computing in shaping the next phase of global technological competition.
