Blockchain.com has launched cryptocurrency options trading for eligible customers, expanding its digital asset platform with another derivatives product.
The new service allows users to purchase call and put options on seven cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Hyperliquid, Avalanche, XRP and Tron.

Contracts have expiration periods of up to one week and are funded using USDC through the company’s Trading Account.
Blockchain.com said the product is designed to simplify options trading while giving users a clearly defined maximum potential loss.
Blockchain.com Adds Options for Seven Cryptocurrencies
The new options service supports BTC, ETH, SOL, HYPE, AVAX, XRP and TRX.
Users can purchase call options when they expect a cryptocurrency’s price to rise or put options when they anticipate a decline.
Rather than requiring customers to navigate complex options trading interfaces, Blockchain.com allows users to select their expected price target, expiration date and investment amount.
The platform then translates those selections into the corresponding call or put option.
Taro Ugen, Vice President of Consumer at Blockchain.com, said the service focuses on the decisions that matter most to traders.
“We take care of the complexity in the background,” Ugen said, describing the product as a simpler way to access options trading with clearly defined risk.
Options Contracts Have One-Week Expiries
Blockchain.com’s options contracts have expiration periods of up to one week.
Users must pay the full option premium upfront in USDC, meaning the maximum potential loss is limited to the amount spent on the contract, including applicable fees.

According to the company’s support documentation, the minimum option premium is $5, excluding fees.
However, the product includes an important restriction.
Options purchased through Blockchain.com must be held until expiration and cannot be sold or closed before their expiry date.
This means users cannot exit a position early to lock in profits or reduce losses if market conditions change.
The service is also available only to eligible customers in supported jurisdictions.
Blockchain.com Expands Crypto Derivatives Business
The options launch follows Blockchain.com’s recent efforts to expand its cryptocurrency derivatives offerings.
Earlier in October, the company applied for two U.S. regulatory approvals from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
These include a designated contract market license and registration as a futures commission merchant.
If approved, the licenses could allow Blockchain.com to offer regulated derivatives and prediction market services to eligible U.S. customers.
The company already provides access to prediction markets through Polymarket and perpetual futures through Hyperliquid for certain international users.
Adding options trading expands the platform’s derivatives lineup and gives eligible customers another way to express short-term views on cryptocurrency prices.
However, access remains subject to jurisdictional restrictions, and the company’s pending U.S. regulatory applications have not yet been approved.
