McDonald‘s is bringing holiday cheer through its Happy Meals and McCafé coffee cups this season. The fast food giant has launched two holiday campaigns aimed at spreading joy and encouraging giving.
Happy Meals Come With Two Toys to Gift
McDonald’s is launching special Happy Meals on Nov. 26 that will include not just one, but two Pet Simulator toys. The second toy is gift wrapped to encourage kids to share it with someone else this holiday season. Kids will also get sticker sheets to customize the 18 different Pet Simulator toys available.
“We hope this special Happy Meal inspires kids to share during this season of giving,” said Jennifer JJ Healan, McDonald’s VP of US marketing, brand content and culture. “Whether they choose to gift their extra toy to a family member, make a friend smile or show kindness to a neighbor, it’s all about helping kids feel the joy of giving this holiday season.”
Pet Simulator launched on Roblox in 2018 and has generated over 116 billion plays across all games to date. The Pet Simulator Happy Meals will be available from Nov. 26 through Dec. 16 at participating McDonald’s locations, while supplies last.
McCafé Coffee Cups Unlock Digital Collectibles
McDonald’s has also partnered with entertainment company Doodles to launch its “GM Spread Joy” holiday campaign. Starting today, customers who purchase any McCafé coffee at participating McDonald’s restaurants will get the chance to unlock exclusive digital collectibles for a limited time.
The coffee cups will feature a mix of McDonald’s and Doodles digital wearables, ensuring each customer gets a physical or digital item. Certain lucky customers will be able to redeem tokens for McDonald’s physical products.
The GM Spread Joy campaign goes beyond the coffee cups to also include:
- Surprise Digital Collectibles: Every cup unlocks a chance to win exclusive McDonald’s x Doodles digital wearables
- Pack Ripping Experience
- Exclusive Merch Drop
- Holiday Soundtrack: “Good Mornin'”, a special track by Marley Bleu produced by Pharrell Williams inspired by viral GM memes. Music video coming in December.
- Spread the Love: 10% of e-commerce proceeds will go to charity
- Social Media Challenge: Fans can join the #GMSpreadJoy challenge on TikTok and Instagram to spread joy with their McCafé coffee. Winners will be featured on a Times Square billboard.
“Coffee is an integral part of the McDonald’s experience,” said Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s CMO. “We’ve relentlessly worked to make it taste better, investing in new technology and educating crews on coffee culture in an effort to deliver a fresher cup of coffee.”
Hassan said the seasonal packaging and Doodles collaboration will make McDonald’s coffee “even more special” this holiday season. Doodles fans have been asking for a McDonald’s collaboration for a while.
To participate in the Doodles campaign, customers need to purchase any size McCafé Coffee at participating McDonald’s US locations.

From Happy Meal toys to digital coffee cup collectibles, McDonald’s latest holiday campaigns aim to spread extra joy at its restaurants this season. The fast food leader continues to find new ways to drive customer engagement through physical and digital experiences.
