JRNYERS ON CARDANO: Moving NFTs from Etherem to Cardano

Cross-Chain NFT Migration: JRNY Club is transitioning 1,000 of its JRNYER NFTs from Ethereum to Cardano. This involves burning existing Ethereum-based NFTs and reminting them on Cardano.
Community Participation and Minting Process: The initiative allows community members to burn up to 500 JRNYER NFTs for reminting on Cardano, with a limit of one NFT per person initially. An additional 500 NFTs will be burned by the company and minted later. The minting process is facilitated by Anvil to ensure security and efficiency.
Strategic Expansion into Cardano: JRNY Club views Cardano as a platform with significant growth potential. While specific utilities for the Cardano-based JRNYER NFTs haven’t been disclosed, they are expected to offer unique benefits, complementing those of the Ethereum-based counterparts.

These NFTs will be burned from our main JRNY CLUB collection on Ethereum and minted on Cardano, so the total number of JRNYERS will stay at 10k total. The total NFTs being up to 1k will make it one of the smallest PFP collections on Cardano.

How the burn and mint will work

We are allowing the community and public to burn up to 500 JRNYER NFTs on ETH to be reminted on Cardano and the company will be burning 80 more JRNYERS (we already burned 420 JRNYERS last year) for a total of 500 burned from the company that will be minted and sold on Cardano at a later date.

To allow a fair chance for everyone to participate, we will be limiting the community burn to 1 NFT per person for the first 2 weeks (or until 500 is reached) and will open it to 3 per person if 500 isn’t reached in the first 2 weeks. Please keep in mind that anyone can participate in the NFT burn by acquiring a JRNYER NFT on secondary markets and this isn’t restricted to current JRNY CLUB members.

After the public NFT burn phase is over, we will be announcing a mint date for the other 500 JRNYERS on Cardano. This will likely be sometime in early-mid May. We have partnered with Anvil to facilitate this NFT mint to ensure a smooth and safe process for everyone.

We will be minting and sending out the 500 JRNYERS burned from the community shortly after the public mint is over, and trading will be available immediately on Cardano NFT marketplaces.

Note: The JRNYER NFT you burn will be the same NFT that is minted on Cardano. Make sure you choose wisely! The 500 JRNYERS that will be available to mint later will be randomized at mint out of all of the JRNYERS being burned from the company.

Why Cardano?

We have always been fond of Cardano and have had plans to build on the Cardano Blockchain. The launch of JRNYERS marks the beginning of our journey on Cardano and will be followed by other products on Cardano that we’ve been working on.

While NFT volume on Cardano isn’t what it used to be, we see the massive potential of the Cardano Blockchain and believe the chain will be growing exponentially over the next few years.

Will JRNYERS on Cardano have utility?

You can think of JRNYERS on Cardano as a very similar NFT to JRNYERS on ETH. While they won’t have all of the same exact utility, they will share some utility with JRNYERS on ETH, while having some utility that is unique to JRNYERS on Cardano. Think of it as a parallel universe.

While we aren’t going to announce any utility that will be exclusive to JRNYERS on Cardano just yet, we will say that we have something big coming for all PFP NFTs in our ecosystem, including the newly minted JRNYERS on Cardano.

The JRNYER PFP NFT is minted from burning a JRNY Pass NFT. By burning a JRNY Pass NFT, you will mint a random JRNYER NFT. There are still rares and 1 of 1 NFTs that haven’t been minted yet, so there is a chance at pulling something good. Once you burn a JRNY Pass and mint a JRNYER, you can either burn that JRNYER to be minted on Cardano, or trade it on Magic Eden. The JRNY Pass NFT is available on all marketplaces.
