- Charles Schwab plans to add Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink to its direct cryptocurrency trading platform in the coming months.
- The three assets will join Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are already available through Schwab Crypto.
- Schwab says the expansion reflects client demand and plans to support additional cryptocurrencies and digital assets over time.
Charles Schwab is expanding its direct crypto trading business, with plans to add Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink to Schwab Crypto in the coming months.
The three cryptocurrencies will join Bitcoin and Ethereum, giving Schwab clients access to five digital assets directly through the brokerage’s crypto platform.

Schwab began rolling out direct cryptocurrency trading to clients in May 2026 as the brokerage expanded deeper into digital assets.
Joe Vietri, Schwab’s head of digital assets, said the expansion will give clients more options for building digital asset allocations alongside the company’s existing investment and banking services.
Schwab Opens Access to More Major Crypto Assets
The decision to add SOL, AVAX and LINK comes amid client demand for established digital assets, according to Schwab.
The brokerage also indicated that the expansion will not stop with these three tokens. Schwab plans to introduce additional cryptocurrencies and other digital assets over time as it develops the platform.
Schwab currently charges 75 basis points on the dollar value of each cryptocurrency trade.
Solana highlighted the scale of the potential distribution, noting that Schwab has 39.9 million brokerage accounts representing approximately $13.04 trillion in client assets.

The move does not mean those assets will automatically flow into SOL or other cryptocurrencies, but it significantly expands the number of traditional brokerage clients able to gain direct access.
Schwab Continues Building Its Crypto Business
The latest expansion follows several other moves by Schwab into cryptocurrency markets.
In June, the company launched 24/7 crypto futures trading through its thinkorswim platform, covering Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and XRP.
Adding direct SOL, AVAX and LINK trading further expands Schwab’s crypto offering beyond the two largest cryptocurrencies and gives clients exposure to blockchain networks focused on areas including smart contracts, decentralized applications and blockchain infrastructure.
The announcement also comes during a broader crypto market rebound. Bitcoin recently traded around $79,801, gaining more than 11% over the past week, while Ethereum climbed roughly 10% to $2,505.
Solana has performed even stronger, rising approximately 22% during the same period.
Schwab’s decision to broaden direct crypto access could become another bridge between traditional brokerage accounts and digital assets, particularly if the company continues adding tokens beyond its initial five-asset lineup.
