- The Hundreds has partnered with some.place to launch an immersive metaverse experience for its 20th birthday celebration.
- Using Unreal Engine 5, the virtual store replicates The Hundreds Fairfax location, allowing visitors to view and purchase clothing pieces seamlessly.
- Initial Beta access is available to Adam Bomb Squad, Badam Bomb Squad, and some.place NFT holders, granting access to other recreated stores within The Hundreds flagship.
To commemorate its 20th anniversary, Los Angeles-based streetwear label The Hundreds has launched an immersive 3D metaverse experience. The company has partnered with some.place. This metaverse platform has embraced e-commerce and provides engaging ways to participate in product drops while assisting brands in creating innovative immersive, and social experiences.
As the some.place private beta test begins, The Hundreds will be the first demonstration of how the platform manages brands and communities.
The some.place storefront offers a level of depth and realism not found in metaverse game experiences like Decentraland and The Sandbox since it was rendered using Unreal Engine 5, the same program used by many of the foremost creators in the video game industry.
Using Unreal Engine 5, the companies collaborated to recreate The Hundreds Fairfax location virtually. As a result, visitors can browse clothing items and even buy them directly from the virtual store. The shopping experience, according to several Twitter users, runs smoothly.
Notably, Adam Bomb Squad, Badam Bomb Squad, and some.place NFT holders have already received initial Beta access to the platform. The new metaverse platform uses token gates so that non-fungible token holders can access the resurrected interpretations of The Hundreds Santa Monica, The Hundreds New York, and The Hundreds San Francisco within the current The Hundreds Los Angeles flagship.
According to Bobby Hundreds, Co-founder of The Hundreds, We’re recreating our Fairfax neighborhood in the metaverse right now with our friends at some. place. We’re building out our stores how we imagined them to be in the metaverse, and this unique digital experience is meant for our community to come together, shop and socialize rather than gamification.”
About The Hundreds
The Hundreds is a streetwear brand founded in 2003 in a small Rosewood office. It has since received widespread acclaim for its innovative guerrilla marketing techniques. The brand has physical locations in Santa Monica, New York, San Francisco, Fairfax, and Virginia today. Some of the stores were closed throughout its two-decade operation.
This is different from the brand’s first foray into web3. The company released the Adam Bomb Squad NFT collection, which included 25,000 digital artworks, in August 2021.
