Yesterday, rap artists Eminem and Snoop debuted the new music video for their song “From The D 2 The LBC” which features animations of themselves embodying their bored apes.
Both are prodigies of producer Dr. Dre, but the relationship between the two rappers has always been a turbulent one. This video debuts both rappers together as apes, which suggests that the beef has been quashed.
On June 24, Eminem sent out a Tweet announcing the release of a new video. The post included a photo of two cartoon monkeys, a sneak peak that gave homage to the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). An NFT set both Eminem and Snoop have invested in. The Tweet was followed by another that advertised the video.
In the video, the duo are recorded shouting homage to their hometowns of Detroit and Long Beach over a video of the rappers morphing in and out of their bored ape forms.
Both rappers are known to be previously associated with the NFT space, with Eminem boasting SABC #2615, a Shaq Gives Back, #4077, and one Adult Fantasy Sub-Dude. Snoop also owns more than a few.
All of Eminem’s NFTs were purchased on the OpenSea marketplace, but as of late, the two have been promoting MoonPay, a crypto payment app that has been developing its own NFT marketplace. The company has also hired others as promoters for their app and some celebrities have also invested hefty amounts of their own money into the company, such as Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Bruce Willis, and Ashton Kutcher.
