- NYU plans to create a new entry for aspiring students looking to land a career in the Web3 industry
The New York University School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS) announced on February 8 that it would partner with the Near Foundation. The collaboration will establish a Web3 Learning Workshop for students and faculty looking to upskill in Web3 technology.
The SPS Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport is launching a workshop that explores the connection between blockchain, Web3, and the sports industry. As the world slowly adapts to such sectors in technology, NYU SPS thought now would be the best time to teach the basics and the complexities.
NYU SPS Dean Angie Kamath said in a speech that all American universities should provide a new course for “success in every industry.” She believes that people should have access to education regarding Web3 as companies continue to implement it in their businesses.
The thought of blockchain technology used to be an alien term for everybody in the past decade, but NYU wants to prepare students for the potential careers of tomorrow.
Crypto and blockchain companies are entering the mainstream crowd one step at a time. NYU’s particular course will help students have a complete understanding and the real purpose of things such as cryptocurrency, digital assets, decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming finance GameFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and the metaverse.
Getting Near with Tomorrow
The Near Foundation, the creators of the blockchain-based NEAR Protocol Ecosystem, will provide hands-on education at NYU. Michael Kelly, the co-founder of the NEAR Ecosystem, will teach there for Web3 Workshop enrollees.
Since NEAR is open-source, the company will let students take advantage of its technology and what a person can do with the Web3 experience. The foundation also confirmed that anyone who joins the workshop would earn NFTs through a decentralized platform.
Near Protocol is a blockchain platform that claims to provide fast, secure, and scalable infrastructure for decentralized applications and digital assets. With its friendly user experience, NEAR Protocol allows developers, businesses, and everyday users to build, exchange, and interact with digital assets in a new, open, and interconnected Web3 economy. With the company’s collaboration with New York University, NEAR could achieve as a firm that selflessly provides the best education for individuals looking for success in a sector that focuses on constant innovation.
However, NYU and NEAR were just some organizations providing blockchain and Web3 education.
The Australian-based Blockchain Academy International has already begun spreading knowledge on Web3 in the country. It is the first blockchain-focused educational establishment approved by the Australian government, complete with student loans.
Meanwhile, one of the most popular crypto exchanges, Binance, is getting ready to bring educational blockchain and Web3 courses in South East Asia, beginning with the Philippines.
