NBA Superstar Earvin “Magic Johnson” showed his NBA Top Shot NFT collection titled “The Anthology: Magic Johnson.”
The former LA Lakers Point Guard has joined the ranks of the other NBA athletes such as Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala, and LeBron James.
NBA Top Shot scheduled the release of “The Anthology: Magic Johnson” on June 7, including 1,600 NFT packets. Every packet will include an iconic highlight throughout Magic’s career, starting from 1979. Each NFT will cost $399.
Another NFT Series from the NBA
NBA Top Shot reported that players who achieved a Top Shot score of at least 150,000 would receive 1,200 packs in ‘The anthology: Magic Johnson’ NFT collection, while the remaining 400 packs would be freely accessible to all purchasers.
Magic Johnson is one of the many NFT collections in the NBA Top Shot Marketplace. Other existing collections include Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant. In addition, the basketball association promised to bring out more of “The Anthology” NFT collections in the future.
Utilizing the Flow Blockchain
The NBA Top Shot is the first professional sports event to utilize the Flow Blockchain, which Dapper Labs produced in 2019. The Flow blockchain is a proof-of-stake network for NFTs and cryptocurrency gaming.
Non-fungible tokens are unique blockchain assets representing ownership of an item, such as a piece of digital art. NFTs exploded in popularity among sportsmen and celebrities who wanted to give memorabilia to their fans with more authority.
