- ARK Invest’s bull case sees Bitcoin hitting $2.4 million by 2030, driven by institutional adoption and scarcity.
- Emerging market demand and on-chain financial services are expected to play a key role in BTC’s long-term value growth.
- Adjusting for lost or inactive coins, ARK projects even more upside, highlighting Bitcoin’s underappreciated supply dynamics.
ARK Invest just dropped a bold new projection for Bitcoin—and it’s a big one. Their latest report says BTC could hit around $2.4 million by 2030 in a full-blown bull scenario. Yep, million with an “m.” It’s not just hype though—this number is built on a full modeling framework that weighs adoption trends, supply quirks, and where Bitcoin fits in the global market puzzle.
That figure implies a whopping 72% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from the end of 2024 through to 2030. ARK’s base case? A still-lofty $1.2 million (CAGR of ~53%). The bearish take? $500K (still up there, with ~32% CAGR).
So what’s driving the most optimistic outcome? Institutional money, mostly. ARK estimates BTC could snag a 6.5% slice of the $200 trillion global market portfolio—excluding gold—by the end of the decade. That’s about double the current gold allocation, so not exactly a small feat.
And speaking of gold, the report leans into the whole “digital gold” narrative. If Bitcoin scoops up 60% of gold’s $18 trillion market cap, that alone could make up over a third of the bull case value. It’s all about being the shinier, more agile store-of-value in a digital world.
Another big piece of the puzzle? Emerging markets. ARK says that in countries where inflation eats your paycheck and currencies spiral out of control, Bitcoin has serious potential. They estimate this use case alone could contribute 13.5% to the bullish price tag, assuming Bitcoin reaches 6% of those nations’ monetary bases.
Also in the mix: rising adoption by governments, companies stashing BTC in treasuries, and the growing world of on-chain financial tools. Even with pretty modest expectations, the growth here is pegged at 60% CAGR, thanks to stuff like Layer 2 tech and wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC).
And here’s a fun twist—ARK adjusted their price target again after factoring in “active” Bitcoin supply. That means they discounted coins that are lost or long-dormant. Using that filtered view, the bull case jumps from $1.5 million to the $2.4 million range.

Their conclusion? Most models don’t really price in Bitcoin’s scarcity—especially when you count all those lost coins. So yeah, they think there’s still plenty of upside that people aren’t seeing.
