Kingship, the virtual metaverse band, announced yesterday that Grammy-award-winning producers Chauncey Hollis, “Hitboy,” and James Fauntleroy would join the band as songwriters and co-executive producers. The team would work together to create music for the NFT characters to perform in the metaverse.

The Grammy-award-winning producers will join Kingship’s leading producer Mutant DJ Arnell in creating and shaping Kingship’s musical sound and progression.

What is Kingship Group?

Kingship Group features characters from Bored Ape Yacht Club’s NFT artwork. The group consists of three rare Bored Apes collectibles and one rare Mutant Ape, all owned by Jimmy McNelis.

The band is signed to Universal Music’s “10:22 PM” label created by Celine Joshua. With the launch of 5,000 NFT keycards in July, Kingship released its first NFT collection. Each NFT keycard grants the owner special access to token-gated experiences, community events, exclusive songs, and unique content.

Like all other digital collectibles, NFT keycards also have different rarities. For instance, each member of the group has a keycard option. Members of the Kingship group are King (lead vocals), Hud (guitar, keyboard, vocals), King Captain (bass, vocals), and Arnell (Drums, beats, producer).

The NFT keycard sold out in August and currently ranks at No.1 in Openseas’ music NFT category at the time of writing. Also, the Kingship Group recently signed a deal with candy brand “M&M,” To mark this event, they released a video, “Rider,” which showcases music coordinated by top-notch producers, Hitboy and James Fauntleroy.

Why the Hitmakers Joined NFT Supergroup

James Fauntleroy, who has teamed up with industry favorites like Rihanna, Nipsey Hussle, Drake, Beyonce, and others, mentioned,

“It is so exciting to be part of something so historical and ambitious.”

The Grammy-award-winning star expressed his excitement to experience the intersection between Web 3, the creative community, and the entertainment industry. He describes himself as a huge nerd and music fanatic.

NFT producer Hitboy on the other hand, also noted that this was an excellent opportunity for him to do something in the Web3 space since he had been looking to push himself musically. Hitboy has worked with Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Beyonce, Kanye West, and many others.

“I’m incredibly thankful that James Fauntleroy and Hit-Boy, two of the most influential and creative geniuses in the entire industry, are coming together to develop the music and sound for Kingship,” said Celine Joshua, her gratitude to the duo for being a part of the band.

Music NFTs: are they on the rise?

It’s interesting to note that top music producers Hitboy and James Fauntleroy are not the only musicians or creatives involved in the NFT space. The music NFT niche is booming with activities as more people join the space.

For instance, Eminem and Snoop Dogg, both owners of Bored Apes, recently released a single, “From The D to The LBC.” The music video also featured images of their bored apes and was performed at the MTV video music awards.

Brian Kelley, lead vocalist to country band Florida Georgia Line also launched an NFT music club.

Conclusion

Bored Ape Yacht club is one of the promising NFT collections in the NFT space and has proven valuable among community members. Holders of the BAYC NFT have exclusive right to use their NFTs, create and sell products or derivate artwork.

Therefore, the Kingship group is not the only proof of the intersection between industries. Other BAYC holders have used their NFTs for various creative purposes, including toys, apparel, and fast food restaurants.
