Anthony Hopkins has created an NFT collection that portrays the Jungian archetypes of his film roles. Though he has acted in more than ten films, he selected only ten for The Eternal Collection.
Not only do these animations represent his work as an actor, but they also include his work as an artist, a painter, to be exact. The Eternal Collection is due to go on sale on September 16th, based on OpenSea.
The Jungian Archetypes
Working with the Orange Comet team, Hopkins produced images of his face following ten Jungian archetypes.
These archetypes in NFT form can be seen to represent his acting roles, including
- The Lover
- The Jester
- The Creator
- The Giver
- The Explorer
- The Hero
- The Magician
- The Sage
- The Ruler
- The Rebel
The animation aspect is interesting about these NFTs, which is 30 seconds long per NFT. In a way, you could see these NFTs as mini-movies, a way of owning a representation of ten of the films he has been in.
There will also be an auction of one NFT that is an edit of all ten animations in one, which may become a collector’s item in the future.
The Eternity Collection
The Eternity Collection has three tiers. There is one of one NFT made up of the ten animations and the ten animations in The Eternity Collection. It also has 1000 PFP NFTs, all of which have different character references.
The three tiers are:
1. The Iconic Category
The one-of-one NFT is in the iconic category as it is one of a kind. It includes autographed art by Hopkins and a lunch with the man himself. It has Dreamscapes, which contain hundreds of paintings and drawings.
2. The Legendary Category
In this tier are ten one-of-one NFTs, with one archetype based on one of his characters.
Using the communication and file sharing app, Discord, the new owners of the 10 one of ones will get to have a chat with Hopkins. Only the unique iconic tier gets to meet the man in person.
Each new owner will get a signed copy of Dreamscapes and framed prints of Hopkins’ pictures.
3. The Distinguished Category
In the final tier, 1000 one-of-one images, each unique, based on the ten archetypes. You also get a print of an NFT archetype, signed by Hopkins.
For only 39 of these sales, a signed copy of Dreamscapes comes with it, and five lucky owners will be randomly chosen to have a Discord chat with Hopkins.
There are only 12 Jungian archetypes, and Hopkins notes that he has had film roles that explore 10 of these. The only two he hasn’t included are the innocent and the caregiver. Perhaps later film roles will allow for the creation of these last two in another round of NFTs. NFTs are not just pieces of digital art, they also help to create communities, and Hopkins, including Discord chats, is an example of that.
