Apple first began developing its secretive “Project Titan” back in 2015, aiming to design and produce a Tesla competitor focused on self-driving technology. However, the ambitious project was plagued by leadership changes, layoffs, and multiple pauses in production over the years. Reports indicate Apple has struggled to perfect the autonomous driving functionality it originally envisioned.
Pivoting to an Electric Vehicle
Faced with mounting technical challenges and missed deadlines, Apple has pivoted to developing an electric vehicle with limited self-driving capabilities, which can be realistically delivered by 2028.
