Google Cloud has partnered with OnFinality, a blockchain infrastructure service provider, to develop two community-backed initiatives on Polkadot to improve Parachain growth within the ecosystem.
Initiative One Explained
The first initiative aims to reduce the cost and simplify the management of node infrastructure. To accomplish this, OnFinality will provide enterprise-level blockchain tooling for parachains, funded by the Polkadot Treasury and supported by Google Cloud API services. This will enable developers to seamlessly connect their DApps across varying parachains without incurring excessive DevOps overhead.
To ensure costs remain low long-term, OnFinality is working toward establishing a Parachain Infrastructure Bounty Program with multiple solution providers so that all parachains can scale with identical provider-agnostic infrastructure.
Initiative Two Explained
The second initiative seeks to optimize data availability to help power large-scale blockchain analytics. This involves setting up the Polkadot Data Alliance to establish and manage the data platform Dotlake, an access point for cross-chain analytics within the Polkadot parachain ecosystem.
Dotlake will enable developers to access data regarding the state of Polkadot and benchmark it against other blockchain networks. A Polkadot Data Alliance Bounty has been established to facilitate on-chain data becoming open-source and accessible to the broader Polkadot community.
This collaborative effort between Google Cloud and OnFinality marks a significant stride towards fortifying Polkadot’s infrastructure and data capabilities, fostering innovation and growth within the ecosystem.
