XRP’s Hidden Potential: Why Tokenization Could Be Its Big Break

  • XRP advocate Max Avery believes the XRP Ledger is positioned to power the real-world asset tokenization boom.
  • Ripple’s infrastructure and speed make XRPL ideal for institutions issuing or transferring digital assets.
  • If tokenization adoption grows, XRP demand and valuation could see major long-term upside.

XRP might be fighting an uphill battle right now, struggling to hold above $2.50 after the brutal October 10 crash—but according to market analyst and long-time advocate Max Avery, this story is far from over. While the broader crypto market looks shaky, Avery believes XRP’s underlying fundamentals—and especially the strength of its ledger—paint a much brighter picture than the price might suggest.

He argues that the XRP Ledger (XRPL) is quietly positioning itself at the center of a financial revolution that’s just beginning to take shape: the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA). And if that narrative plays out the way some expect, XRP could be in for something huge.

Tokenization: The Big Shift in Global Finance

The term “tokenization” has become something of a buzzword lately, but the concept is massive—it’s about taking traditional financial assets, from real estate to bonds, and turning them into digital tokens on the blockchain. This allows for faster, more transparent, and borderless ownership transfer, reshaping how markets work.

Leaders across finance are backing this idea. Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, has called tokenization the “next evolution of finance,” while Vlad Tenev from Robinhood said it could “swallow the entire financial system.” Big words, sure, but there’s weight behind them.

BlackRock has already stepped in with its BUIDL fund, launched last year, signaling that this isn’t just talk—it’s happening. Current data from RWA.xyz puts the value of tokenized real-world assets around $33.98 billion, though the World Economic Forum projects this could swell to a staggering $867 trillion in the decades ahead. That’s not a typo—it’s a trillion with a “T.”

Why XRPL Fits the Role Perfectly

According to Avery, the XRP Ledger is tailor-made for this transformation. Its structure allows for fast, cheap, and reliable transactions, which is exactly what tokenized assets need to move efficiently. Many in the industry already view XRPL as one of the most promising platforms for this wave of tokenization, with Bitwise even naming XRP as a strategic play on the sector’s growth.

Ripple, of course, has been quietly preparing for this. The company’s long-term goal has always been to make XRPL the go-to infrastructure for real-world asset management. Even Ripple’s now-former CTO David Schwartz mentioned years ago that the ledger was evolving toward this very purpose—tokenization, interoperability, and scalability.

The Road Ahead for XRP Holders

For XRP investors, Avery says the opportunity is hiding in plain sight. As more institutions adopt XRPL for token issuance or settlement, the demand for XRP—the ledger’s native gas token—could naturally rise. Each new participant means more activity, more transactions, and more relevance for the token itself.

He believes that if XRPL cements its position as a backbone of the tokenized asset market, XRP’s valuation could see a serious long-term reprice. Sure, the market’s messy right now, and sentiment feels shaky—but the groundwork being laid today could define the asset’s next major move.

Avery summed it up pretty simply: the tokenization era might just make XRP’s next chapter its most important one yet.
