- Strategy bought 1,229 BTC at an average price of $88,568, raising total holdings to 672,497 BTC
- The purchase was funded through $109 million in stock sales under its ATM program
- Despite Bitcoin’s pullback, Strategy still holds over $8 billion in unrealized gains
Strategy continues to lean into its Bitcoin-first treasury strategy, adding another sizable purchase despite recent market volatility. The latest acquisition pushes the company’s BTC holdings closer to 673,000 coins, reinforcing its long-term conviction even as Bitcoin trades below recent highs.

Strategy Expands Bitcoin Treasury Despite Market Pullback
Strategy disclosed that it purchased 1,229 BTC last week at an average price of $88,568 per coin, spending roughly $108.8 million. This brings the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to 672,497 BTC, acquired at an average cost of approximately $74,997 per coin.
At current market prices near $87,300, Strategy’s Bitcoin treasury is valued at close to $59 billion. Despite Bitcoin’s recent pullback, the company is still sitting on more than $8 billion in unrealized gains, highlighting how earlier accumulation continues to cushion short-term price swings.
Stock Sales Fund Latest Bitcoin Purchase
The company funded the acquisition through its at-the-market equity program. Strategy sold 663,450 shares of Class A common stock during the week ended December 28, generating around $109 million in net proceeds. No preferred shares were sold during the period, leaving significant issuance capacity available for future funding if needed.
Strategy noted that it has achieved a Bitcoin yield of 23.2% year-to-date in 2025, reflecting both price appreciation earlier in the year and the continued expansion of its BTC position.

Market Reaction and What It Signals
Shares of Strategy dipped ahead of Monday’s market open, tracking Bitcoin’s recent volatility. The stock is down roughly 45% year-to-date, underscoring how closely equity performance has remained tied to BTC price movements.
Even so, the latest purchase signals that Strategy remains committed to its aggressive accumulation strategy, viewing current price levels as an opportunity rather than a deterrent. As long as Bitcoin volatility persists, Strategy’s stock is likely to remain sensitive to broader crypto market swings.
