SoFi Crypto Revenue Climbs in Q2 – Here Is Why Its Stablecoin Strategy Is Expanding

  • SoFi’s crypto transaction revenue increased 10% quarter over quarter as the fintech continued expanding its digital asset business.
  • The company also began processing real-time commercial payments through its new SoFiUSD stablecoin on its enterprise banking platform.
  • While crypto remains a small part of SoFi’s business, the firm continues adding stablecoin, tokenization, and institutional payment services.

SoFi reported another quarter of growth in its digital asset business, with crypto transaction revenue rising during the second quarter as the company expanded both its retail and enterprise blockchain offerings.

The fintech generated $134.3 million in crypto transaction volume during the quarter, resulting in approximately $1.2 million in net revenue after transaction costs. That represented an increase from roughly $850,000 reported during the first quarter.

Although cryptocurrency remains a relatively small contributor to SoFi’s record $1.2 billion in adjusted quarterly net revenue, the company continues investing heavily in blockchain-based financial products following the relaunch of its crypto services in late 2025.

SoFiUSD Begins Powering Commercial Payments

One of the biggest milestones during the quarter was the continued rollout of SoFiUSD, the company’s dollar-pegged stablecoin.

SoFi’s Big Business Banking platform has now begun processing real-time transactions through the SoFi Exchange Network, allowing commercial customers to move funds around the clock using SoFiUSD.

Earlier this year, SoFi also launched the stablecoin to retail users through its banking app, enabling customers to buy, sell, hold, and convert SoFiUSD across both the Ethereum and Solana blockchains.

Stablecoin Expansion Continues

Beyond basic payments, SoFi has outlined broader plans for its digital asset ecosystem.

The company intends to introduce tokenized bank deposits backed by FDIC-insured accounts, expand cross-border payment capabilities, and integrate SoFiUSD with the Bullish crypto exchange to serve institutional clients.

These initiatives reflect SoFi’s strategy of combining traditional banking infrastructure with blockchain technology to offer faster and more flexible payment solutions.

Analysts See Product Growth Accelerating

Following the earnings release, analysts at William Blair maintained their Outperform rating on SoFi shares, citing the company’s expanding product portfolio as a key driver of customer engagement.

The firm noted that SoFi reached what it described as a “product growth inflection point,” with products per member increasing from 1.46 a year ago to 1.54, suggesting customers are adopting more of the company’s financial services.

Analysts also pointed to SoFi Plus and the growing suite of digital asset products as important contributors to long-term monetization.

SoFi Expands Beyond Financial Services

Outside of fintech, SoFi also announced a major multi-year partnership with Notre Dame Athletics.

The agreement establishes a $1.4 million annual fund supporting student-athlete scholarships, financial education, and career development while making SoFi the first brand to appear on Fighting Irish football jerseys.

The sponsorship is reportedly valued between $18 million and $20 million annually, making it one of the largest commercial partnerships in college sports.
