  • Ledger has integrated Coinbase Pay into its Ledger Live app, allowing users to buy crypto on Coinbase and deposit it directly into their Ledger wallet. Purchases under $2,500 will have no network fees.
  • The integration also enables users to sell crypto from their Ledger wallet directly on Coinbase.
  • Ledger and Coinbase say this makes it easier for users to buy, sell, and manage crypto assets securely between the two platforms.

Bringing Coinbase Pay into the Ledger Live app is supposed to benefit Ledger users, making it easier to receive their crypto purchases from Coinbase directly on their Ledger hardware wallet, without any additional fees.

Details on the Integration

Ledger has integrated Coinbase’s self-custody crypto wallet Coinbase Wallet into Ledger Live. This allows users to access DeFi apps and NFTs directly from the Ledger Live app.

With the integration of Coinbase Pay, users will be able to buy crypto on Coinbase and have it deposited directly into their Ledger hardware wallet. Purchases of up to $2,500 per transaction will have no network fees.

The integration will also allow users to sell crypto held in their Ledger wallet directly on Coinbase.

Quotes from Ledger and Coinbase

“With Coinbase Pay integrated into Ledger Live, you’ll be able to buy crypto on Coinbase and deposit it directly into your Ledger hardware wallet,” said Coinbase product lead Swapnil Pawar.

“We are thrilled to launch Coinbase Pay integration with Ledger,” said Coinbase vice president of product Sid Coelho-Prabhu.

“This integration brings Coinbase’s secure self-custody crypto wallet experience to Ledger devices, giving our joint customers seamless access to the emerging world of DeFi and NFTs directly from the Ledger Live app,” said Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier.

Conclusion

The integration of Coinbase Pay into Ledger Live will make it easier for users to buy, sell, and manage crypto assets securely. Allowing users to avoid network fees on purchases under $2,500 provides an added incentive to use both platforms together.
