Ember Sword is an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game) that is being built on Ethereum and is implementing scaling solutions on IMX. The game will be similar to Runescape in many ways and will take place in a player-driven dystopian fantasy universe full of PvP and PvE experiences.
Once the game is released, you will be able to create a character, pick a home nation, venture into the world with your weapon of choice and participate in the action-packed classless combat system by defeating monsters, bosses, and other players, or explore the world as a peaceful forager of goods and other rare items, making a name for yourself as a talented refiner and craftsman.
The CEO is Mark Laursen. The rest of the team consists of Christoffer Erland (operations manager), Anders Rostgaard (lead gameplay developer), Loren Rosendaal (executive producer), Victor Rubinstein (art producer), and Jess Mulligan (executive consultant).
Ember Sword will release on PC first, accessible from both Mac and Windows directly in your browser, or as a stand-alone client.
They have extensive introductions to team members on their Youtube channel, where they also post updates, podcasts, and Q&A sessions. After launch, there are plans to start working on the mobile version.
The roadmap focuses on releasing the game, which has been in development for many months now but is currently still in pre-alpha. In 2022 they opened up a pre-alpha testing of the game where holders that had land or a badge could try out some of the game.
This was mainly done in order to test the capabilities of the proprietary game engine, as well as various networking features. More gameplay-focused testing coming throughout 2022.
Later in 2022, the team plans to open up the capital of Solarwood – the first nation, for pre-alpha testing. Throughout the remainder of 2022, the remainder of Solarwood will be slowly added. The other nations will follow the same process, with their releases currently planned for 2023 and beyond.
