Bryan Johnson, a billionaire known for his investments in biohacking and longevity research, has entered the world of NFTs by sponsoring an airdrop of digital collectibles on the Solana blockchain. Johnson’s Blueprint project collaborated with NFT platform DRiP and artist Degen Poet to create a collection of free NFTs for DRiP holders called Blueprint.
The Blueprint Collection
The Blueprint collection consists of three NFTs that collectors can claim randomly in common, uncommon, and legendary rarities. DRiP covers gas fees for claiming the airdrop. Blueprint NFTs are tagged to indicate they originated as a sponsored airdrop in partnership with biohacking advocate Bryan Johnson.
Johnson’s Interest in Crypto and Longevity
Johnson said crypto and longevity are “best friends” and he aims to cement that idea with the Blueprint NFT airdrop. He has invested over $4 million into scientific research and protocols to enhance health and longevity. Johnson previously worked with the Solana community on his Blueprint product line for biohacking tools and supplements.
Degen Poet’s Celebrated Artwork
The art for Blueprint comes from digital artist Degen Poet, one of the most acclaimed creators on Solana. DRiP CEO Vibhu Norby said Degen Poet’s work is the most traded NFT collection of all time on any blockchain. When Johnson discovered Degen Poet’s art, he saw an opportunity to introduce the artist to crypto in an exciting way while promoting his own longevity mission.
Airdrops in Crypto
Airdrops distribute free coins or tokens to active blockchain users. The Blueprint airdrop comes on the heels of other recent airdrops like 21,000 Ordinals to Bitcoin holders and up to 643,652 WEN tokens to over one million wallets. Airdrops generate anticipation and reward engagement within crypto communities.
Johnson Cementing the Crypto-Longevity Connection
Through the Blueprint collaboration, Bryan Johnson aims to strengthen the link between crypto and the goal of extending human lifespan. With an airdrop introducing his longevity community to NFTs, Johnson asserts crypto will play an important role in his mission to improve health, combat aging, and “dont die.”
