  • BitFuFu’s Bitcoin production rebounded sharply in August, while CleanSpark also reported higher monthly output and Canaan recorded its third consecutive decline.
  • BitFuFu produced 174 BTC as its total hashrate under management increased 45.1% to 20.6 EH/s, while CleanSpark reported 593 BTC of production.
  • Canaan mined 44 BTC and sold its entire 3,952 ETH position along with 54 BTC, generating approximately $13.9 million in cash.

Major publicly traded Bitcoin miners reported mixed production results for August, with BitFuFu and CleanSpark increasing output while Canaan continued its recent decline.

BitFuFu recorded one of the strongest rebounds, producing 174 BTC during the month compared with 112 BTC in July.

CleanSpark reported 593 BTC of August production, up around 1% from the previous month, while Canaan produced just 44 BTC, down from 46 BTC in July and 64 BTC in June.

The results come as miners continue adjusting their operations, treasury strategies and infrastructure plans.

BitFuFu Expands Mining Capacity

BitFuFu’s August recovery followed a significant expansion in mining capacity.

Total hashrate under management increased 45.1% month over month to 20.6 EH/s as capacity secured during June and July began coming online.

Cloud mining production more than doubled from 40 BTC in July to 86 BTC in August.

Self-mining production also increased 22%, rising from 72 BTC to 88 BTC.

BitFuFu finished the month with 1,373 BTC, up from 1,314 BTC, making it the 39th-largest publicly traded Bitcoin treasury.

CleanSpark Produces 593 Bitcoin

CleanSpark’s production increased to 593 BTC despite its average operating hashrate slipping slightly to 38.3 EH/s.

The company has now produced 4,903 BTC during the first eight months of 2026, worth more than $386 million at current prices.

However, its Bitcoin holdings declined from 13,931 BTC at the end of July to 13,703 BTC.

The change included 77 BTC sold on the spot market, 500 BTC related to call exercises and another 244 BTC associated with a basis trade.

CleanSpark remains the ninth-largest publicly traded Bitcoin treasury.

The company is also continuing construction at its Sandersville data center campus tied to a previously announced $6.6 billion lease and has received conditional ERCOT classifications covering 885 MW of contracted capacity across its Texas sites.

Canaan Sells Ethereum and Bitcoin

Canaan’s mining output declined for a third consecutive month, falling to 44 BTC in August from 46 BTC in July and 64 BTC in June.

The company also made significant changes to its crypto treasury.

Canaan sold its entire 3,952 ETH position along with 54 BTC at average prices of approximately $2,400 and $79,000, respectively.

The sales generated roughly $13.9 million in cash, with $5.4 million subsequently used to repurchase 13.6 million American Depositary Shares.

Canaan ended August with 1,868 BTC and no ETH, making it the 35th-largest publicly traded Bitcoin treasury.
