- Binance.US plans to apply for a CFTC Designated Contract Market (DCM) license next month to expand beyond spot crypto trading.
- The exchange aims to launch regulated prediction markets alongside lower trading fees, perpetuals, and additional trading products.
- If approved, the license would strengthen Binance.US’s regulatory position and broaden its offerings in the U.S. market.
Binance.US is preparing to take another major step in its U.S. expansion by applying for a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Designated Contract Market (DCM) license next month.

The planned application would allow the exchange to pursue regulated prediction markets, marking a significant shift beyond traditional spot cryptocurrency trading as Binance.US continues rebuilding its business after years of regulatory challenges.
The announcement was made by Binance.US CEO Stephen Gregory, also known as Stevie_Satoshi, during an appearance at the RareEvo conference.
Prediction Markets Become a Key Growth Strategy
According to Gregory, prediction markets are one of several new products Binance.US hopes to introduce as it expands its platform.
The exchange is also working to lower trading fees and broaden its product lineup with offerings such as perpetual contracts, aiming to compete more directly with other U.S. crypto exchanges that already provide a wider range of regulated trading services.
A successful DCM approval would enable Binance.US to offer futures, options, and certain event-based contracts under CFTC oversight.
CFTC Approval Could Expand Binance.US
A Designated Contract Market license is a key regulatory framework for exchanges seeking to list derivatives and event contracts in the United States.
If the application is approved, Binance.US would join a growing number of platforms entering the regulated prediction market sector, where traders speculate on the outcomes of elections, economic reports, sporting events, and other real-world developments.

The move would also reinforce the company’s regulatory credentials as it continues rebuilding trust with U.S. customers.
Approval Is Not Guaranteed
Although Binance.US expects to submit its application next month, the regulatory process could take considerable time.
The CFTC reviews each application individually, and approval timelines vary depending on the complexity of the proposal and the agency’s evaluation process.
As a result, there is no guarantee that Binance.US will receive approval or launch prediction markets on its proposed timeline.
Investors Await the Next Filing
Market participants will now be watching for Binance.US’s official filing with the CFTC and any updates regarding the agency’s review.
If approved, the exchange could significantly expand its product offerings while increasing competition in the rapidly growing U.S. prediction markets industry.
The planned application also signals Binance.US’s continued effort to evolve beyond a spot trading platform and establish itself as a broader regulated digital asset marketplace.
