XRP ETF Boom: REX-Osprey’s XRPR Leads the Market Amid SEC Delays

  • XRPR, the first U.S. spot XRP ETF, hit $100M in AUM within a month of launch.
  • Brazil’s XRPH11 trails behind with $52M, despite being launched earlier.
  • Institutional activity around XRP is surging, with CME and Evernorth joining the ecosystem.

The newly launched REX-Osprey XRP ETF (ticker: XRPR) is making waves in the crypto world. Just one month after its debut, the first-ever spot XRP ETF in the United States has already surpassed $100 million in assets under management. This milestone comes at a time when several other spot XRP ETF applications remain tangled in regulatory delays, leaving XRPR as the only option for U.S. investors wanting direct XRP exposure.

Rapid Growth and Market Traction

Launched in September, XRPR wasted no time attracting investor attention. Within four weeks, the ETF hit $100 million in AUM — a strong signal of institutional interest in Ripple’s native token. Unlike futures-based products, XRPR offers actual spot exposure to XRP, allowing investors to hold a position directly linked to the underlying asset.

This fast climb comes during a period of hesitation in the ETF space. The SEC is still dragging its feet on approving other spot XRP ETFs, which ironically has helped XRPR gain an early monopoly in the U.S. market. The fund’s momentum underscores a growing appetite for regulated crypto products — especially among investors who prefer traditional financial vehicles over direct exchange trading.

Brazil’s Hashdex ETF Falls Behind

Interestingly, Brazil was the first country to roll out a spot XRP ETF earlier this year through the Hashdex Nasdaq XRP Fund (XRPH11). Despite having a head start, it’s lagging far behind in performance. XRPH11 currently holds about 282 million Brazilian reais, or roughly $52 million — just half of XRPR’s size.

The difference highlights one thing clearly: U.S. investors seem far more eager for spot XRP exposure. With deeper markets and broader retail access, the U.S. fund has managed to capture more inflows in less time. Still, XRPH11 remains a key option for Latin American investors seeking regulated access to XRP, with Hashdex continuing to dominate the region’s digital asset management scene.

Regulatory Delays Create an Opening

The SEC’s ongoing delays on at least six pending XRP ETF filings have unintentionally played in REX-Osprey’s favor. A recent government shutdown added to the backlog, leaving XRPR as the only approved spot XRP ETF available in the country. That exclusivity has funneled institutional capital toward it at an impressive pace.

A REX-Osprey spokesperson commented, “We’re thrilled with the response so far. The demand for XRPR reflects growing confidence in XRP as an institutional-grade asset.” Once the SEC clears the pipeline of other filings, competition may increase — but for now, XRPR is enjoying a rare first-mover advantage.

Institutional Adoption on the Rise

Beyond ETFs, XRP’s institutional ecosystem is expanding fast. The CME Group recently introduced XRP options to its lineup, complementing its existing futures and micro contracts, which have already seen over 567,000 contracts traded since May — totaling nearly $27 billion in notional volume.

Meanwhile, Evernorth, a new treasury firm preparing for a Nasdaq listing, announced it will hold XRP as a reserve asset. Moves like this signal a growing acceptance of XRP within traditional finance. Between regulated investment vehicles, increasing trading volume, and corporate adoption, XRP is steadily finding its place in the mainstream financial landscape.
