Trump Media and Technology Group is taking another step into crypto, giving Truth Social users the ability to convert “gems” earned on the platform into Cronos (CRO), the native token of Crypto.com.
Truth Social Rewards Go Crypto
As part of its Patriot Package—a premium subscription for Truth+ streaming—users will now earn digital gems that can be redeemed for CRO. The integration uses Crypto.com’s wallet infrastructure, linking Truth Social’s rewards directly to a major exchange token.
This marks a shift from Trump Media’s earlier plan to launch its own utility token. Back in April, CEO Devin Nunes said the company was exploring a native token for subscriptions and rewards. That idea seems to have pivoted, at least for now, in favor of leveraging Crypto.com’s ecosystem.
Rumors, Denials, and Memecoin Buzz
Earlier this year, speculation swirled online about a potential Truth Social memecoin. The company denied those rumors, with Donald Trump Jr. saying there was “no truth” to the chatter. Instead, Trump Media has focused on building out tokenized rewards and partnerships with established players like Crypto.com.
A Bigger Partnership With Crypto.com
This isn’t the first deal between the two firms. In 2025, Trump Media teamed up with Crypto.com to roll out ETFs tracking digital assets through Truth.Fi. On top of that, Trump Media is acquiring 684.4 million CRO tokens—worth about $105 million—as part of a much larger $6.4 billion digital-asset treasury strategy. These holdings, kept in Crypto.com’s custody, may eventually be staked to earn yield.
