Shiba Inu Moves Toward True Decentralization with First-Ever Presidential Election

  • Shiba Inu is holding its first-ever election to choose an interim president and multi-DAO governance councils.
  • Voting will be guided by the Hounds Constitution, with community members using SHIB, BONE, LEASH, and TREAT tokens.
  • The elected leader will oversee infrastructure changes and help launch the ecosystem’s decentralized Congress.

Big changes are brewing in the Shiba Inu ecosystem. The project just announced it’s rolling out its first interim president election—yeah, like an actual leadership vote—and it’s all part of a bigger push toward becoming fully decentralized. Alongside this, they’re also building out multi-DAO councils. It’s a bold move, and it comes right on time as SHIB celebrates five years in the game.

Shib has always been designed for full decentralization. As we move into the 5th Shib Year 🥳. It's time to launch a vital aspect to achieve this goal: ELECTIONS. https://t.co/jlAn8yOwLv

The idea isn’t just to find someone popular. Shytoshi Kusama made it clear—they’re looking for a responsible leader who actually aligns with the project’s core values. This interim president will help launch a “multi-DAO Congress,” oversee infrastructure transitions, and guide Shiba Inu’s next chapter. It’s not just vibes anymore—it’s structure.

The Hounds Constitution & How It’ll All Work

This whole election thing will follow a document called the Hounds Constitution, written by Kusama himself. It’s been slightly tweaked to guarantee fairness and full transparency throughout the process. Anyone in the community can vote, and they’ll be using ecosystem tokens—SHIB, BONE, TREAT, and LEASH—to do it. The goal? Empower the actual community to shape the future.

Once elected, the interim president won’t just be a figurehead. They’ll handle both technical and admin work while guiding the creation of the DAO Congress. It’s all structured around the Shiba Inu white paper, so this isn’t just a PR stunt—it’s baked into the long-term vision for the ecosystem.

Debates, Voting & the Road to the Presidency

It won’t be a free-for-all. Candidates have to submit their profiles, pass a screening, and then—here’s the cool part—they’ll take part in a live debate. Yup, like politics but for crypto. The community gets to hear from the top 10 nominees directly before casting their votes for the final three.

Then a week later, a second round of voting determines who becomes interim president. Whoever wins has to go through KYC and sign an NDA to make sure the position’s taken seriously and secure. It’s not Web2… but it’s not total chaos either.

SHIB’s New Chapter Is All About Community Power

decentralization isn’t just cosmetic; it’s baked into SHIB’s new governance framework. With the introduction of councils, debates, structured elections, and transparency checks, Shiba Inu is trying to prove it can be more than just another meme coin.

Whether the community fully embraces it or not—that part’s still up in the air. But one thing’s for sure: they’re not playing it safe anymore.
