Pixels is a play-to-earn metaverse platform where players can explore the map and farm plants on their plots. The team describes it as βa fun, easy-going, and casual game farming game.β And they want to create it in a way for it βto be to be the gateway for millions into Web3.β
What is exciting about the game that they have created is that the infrastructure and tooling theyβve built can be used beyond their game, allowing other projects to also participate. And this is exactly what they are doing these days.
One of the recent integrations into the Pixels ecosystem is Gridcraft β a project that was previously being built inside Minecraft but had to find a new home due to the recent ban on NFTs by Mojang. Β
There are 16 team members listed on their website with various roles such as, for example, engineers, community leaders, sound designers, producers, artists, and software engineers. The founder is Luke Barwikowski. Everyone that is a part of the core team is doxxed.
They have all kinds of backgrounds and some have worked for AAA gaming studios in the past.
They also established good partnerships and have remarkable early investors. Some of them include Opensea, Animoca Brands, Untapped, and PKO. The game was inspired by Stardew Valley.
So far, they built a whole system already and they are about to release their latest build soon, which will revamp a lot of in-game mechanics, and enhance the art and also the overall experience on Pixels. Some of the other things they will be including and creating will enable other projects (such as Gridcraft and Llamascape) to create in-game assets with little to no code and enable it to all be blockchain ready.
