- The Full Send Podcast has featured prominent guests like Donald Trump and Elon Musk, boosting its influence among young, conservative audiences.
Crypto payments giant MoonPay has inked a multi-year partnership with Shots Podcast Network, locking in its role as the exclusive crypto sponsor for major shows like This Past Weekend with Theo Von and the Full Send Podcast. The deal, announced Thursday, aims to bring crypto ads and potential integrations across the network’s entire lineup of shows.
MoonPay’s ads—dubbed “read-ins”—will roll out on multiple podcasts, according to a company rep. Additional features could be added in the future as the partnership evolves. As part of the agreement, John Shahidi, CEO of Shots Podcast Network, will also take on a creative advisor role at MoonPay. Shahidi will contribute to projects like the MoonPay Minute newsletter and Modern Money podcast while helping with promotion on X (formerly Twitter).
A Big Deal for Crypto and Content
“John Shahidi is a visionary content creator, and the Shots Podcast Network are some of the most influential voices in media today,” said MoonPay’s President of Enterprise, Keith Grossman, in a statement. “We’re excited to welcome John aboard and kick off this partnership.”
A source familiar with the deal revealed to Decrypt that the sponsorship is valued in the mid-seven-figure range—so, yeah, we’re talking millions. Notably, Kraken had previously sponsored the Shots Podcast Network before MoonPay secured this exclusive deal.
Shots’ Growing Influence
Shots Podcast Network has seen explosive growth, especially among younger, conservative listeners. Hosts like Theo Von and Kyle Forgeard (Full Send) have brought in high-profile guests recently, including Donald Trump, JD Vance, and Elon Musk. The Full Send brand has also capitalized on this momentum by selling Trump-themed merch and collaborating with organizations like the UFC.
Their other major sponsors include Shopify and Gopuff, reinforcing the network’s appeal to both crypto and mainstream businesses. It’s clear that Shots is positioning itself at the intersection of politics, pop culture, and finance—making it an ideal partner for MoonPay’s ambitions.
Crypto Meets Media
This partnership comes at a time when crypto firms are ramping up their political and media spending. With Donald Trump back in office, some American crypto companies have reportedly poured millions into his inauguration committee. Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s platform, X, is preparing to launch a payments system later this year through a collaboration with Visa—though it has yet to integrate crypto options like Dogecoin.
For MoonPay, partnering with a media powerhouse like Shots could be a game-changer, giving them direct access to an audience that’s both crypto-curious and politically engaged. As the worlds of crypto and digital media continue to converge, this could be just the beginning of a broader push into mainstream culture.
