Solana DeFi aggregator Jupiter will launch a new meme coin called WEN this Friday through its token launchpad. The WEN token comes from DeFi/NFT protocol Ovols and is part of Jupiter’s efforts to test its launchpad ahead of its own JUP token drop next week.
Details On the Upcoming Airdrop
Jupiter founder Meow shared more details on the airdrop in a Thursday Twitter post. They minted a poem called “A Love Letter to Wen Bros” as an NFT using a new standard called Wen New Standard (WNS). This NFT was then fractionalized into 1 trillion WEN tokens, 70% of which will be distributed to over 1 million eligible Solana wallets starting Friday at 10am ET. Despite its origins, WEN will trade like normal Solana tokens according to its website.

The airdrop eligibility includes Jupiter users over the past 6 months, Solana Saga owners, and holders of Ovols and top Solana NFTs. The Wen Foundation aims to give back to the Solana community and showcase the network’s capabilities.
