• Fetch.ai (FET), SingularityNET (AGIX), and Ocean Protocol (Ocean) have set June 13 as the date for completing their token merger
• FET will be renamed ASI two days before, on June 11
• The three AI platforms are merging to form the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance
Three leading decentralized AI platforms – Fetch.ai (FET), SingularityNET (AGIX), and Ocean Protocol (Ocean) – have set a date to merge their tokens into one, the companies announced on Wednesday. The merger aims to advance artificial general intelligence through collaboration.
The Alliance
Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and Ocean Protocol first formed the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance in 2023. The goal of the alliance is to combine their specialized AI technologies to create artificial general intelligence that can reason, plan, and solve complex problems.
Fetch.ai specializes in AI-powered autonomy and smart infrastructure. SingularityNET has a decentralized AI marketplace and protocol. Ocean Protocol focuses on data sharing and privacy-preserving computation.
The Merger
On June 13, 2024, the three platforms will merge their tokens into one called ASI.
Two days prior on June 11, Fetch.ai’s FET token will be renamed to ASI. Each FET will automatically convert to one ASI.
SingularityNET’s AGIX and Ocean Protocol’s OCEAN will migrate into the new ASI token on June 13. Specific exchange rates have not yet been announced.
The alliance believes combining their tokens will allow tighter collaboration and alignment as they build general AI together.
The Future
The Artificial Superintelligence Alliance has lofty goals of developing AI that can reason across multiple domains. This includes pursuing AI with imagination, common sense, ethics, logic, and more.
By merging their specialized technologies, the alliance aims to create multipurpose AI that can adapt to many environments. The token merger marks a major milestone as they move towards fully integrated artificial general intelligence.
