Bitcoin’s California Connection: A New Legislative Push

In a press release shared with Bitcoin Magazine, Chen revealed plans to work with Proof of Workforce, led by founder Dom Bei, on drafting Bitcoin-focused legislation for an upcoming session. The nonprofit’s mission centers around educating workers, unions, and municipalities about Bitcoin adoption, and this initiative expands its influence to policy-making.

Chen remarked on the growing adoption of Bitcoin globally, noting its role as a $2 trillion network with potential for reshaping California’s economic and social landscape. “We must take a meaningful look into Bitcoin’s place in our great state,” he stated, hinting at Bitcoin’s transformative possibilities.

Proof of Workforce’s Proven Track Record

This isn’t the first time Proof of Workforce has helped bridge Bitcoin with local governments. Last summer, the nonprofit partnered with Santa Monica to launch an official Bitcoin office. The initiative, backed by Mayor Lana Negrete, saw tremendous interest, with other cities reaching out for guidance. Their hands-on approach, focusing on education and key custody, ensures sustainable adoption.

Dom Bei emphasized Bitcoin’s Californian roots, highlighting its alignment with protecting workers’ time, energy, and value. “Bitcoin isn’t partisan; it’s uniquely Californian,” he said, underscoring its potential as a unifying tool for communities and governments alike.

A Growing Movement

With California’s initiatives coinciding with federal Bitcoin adoption under President Trump, the state is poised to become a hub for cryptocurrency integration. As Proof of Workforce continues its grassroots efforts—ranging from firefighter unions to global partnerships—it’s clear their methodical approach is yielding results.

For those following Bitcoin’s adoption journey, keeping tabs on Dom Bei and Proof of Workforce on X (formerly Twitter) promises insights into groundbreaking projects ahead. The future of Bitcoin in California is taking shape, one community at a time.
