Bitcoin Takes Over the Las Vegas Sphere

  • Bitcoin appeared on the Las Vegas Sphere, a massive screen on the Las Vegas Strip, through an advertisement by Crypto.com, beating the Dogwifhat meme coin community that had raised $700,000 to get their dog logo displayed.
  • The Dogwifhat organizers claim they are still working on getting their logo on the Sphere, but some investors are demanding refunds due to the lack of concrete updates.
  • While Bitcoin made an appearance, the Dogwifhat Telegram channel set up an automatic response saying they are “exploring partnership angles for the sphere and trying to maximize the effect” and “getting closer to a date set.”

Bitcoin recently appeared on the enormous Las Vegas Sphere thanks to an advertisement from Cryptocom. This has led to questions around the status of the Dogwifhat meme coin community’s plans to also advertise on the Sphere after raising over $700,000 in March.

Bitcoin on the Sphere

As shown in a video shared by Cryptocom, a giant Bitcoin logo was displayed on the Sphere along with many animated golden Bitcoins. The Cryptocom logo also appeared in the ad. As the largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin’s appearance on the landmark is a significant moment for the industry.

Dogwifhat’s Plans

Back in March, the Dogwifhat community raised funds with the goal of getting their meme dog displayed on the Sphere. With Bitcoin now appearing, some believe this opens the door for Dogwifhat’s campaign. However, concrete updates have been lacking and some donors are growing impatient. Organizers say partnerships are still being explored to “maximize the effect” but no dates are confirmed yet.

Community Reaction

The lack of updates has led to some frustration within the Dogwifhat community. However, Bitcoin’s ad is seen by many as a positive sign that crypto projects can advertise on the Sphere after all. While eager for Dogwifhat’s debut, the community is hopeful it will happen soon.

Bitcoin vs. Dogwifhat Performance

While interest remains high for Dogwifhat’s Sphere debut, Bitcoin has outperformed it lately. Bitcoin has dropped about 2% in recent days while Dogwifhat has fallen 7% in the same timeframe. However, if Dogwifhat gains a prominent showcase in Las Vegas, it could potentially reinvigorate interest.

Conclusion

The Bitcoin ad has proven the Las Vegas Sphere is open to crypto projects. But the Dogwifhat community is still anxiously awaiting their meme coin’s promised spot on the massive display. If the organizers can secure a date and maximize the impact as planned, it could be a major publicity moment for the upstart token. For now, Bitcoin remains king of the Sphere while Dogwifhat’s plans remain uncertain.
