Cameron Scrubs, the founder of Tradeship University, just dropped one of the boldest crypto predictions of the year. According to him, XRP could surpass both Bitcoin and Ethereum by 2030 — taking the crown as the number one cryptocurrency in the world by market cap. It’s a massive claim, but Scrubs isn’t exactly alone in thinking XRP’s story is far from over.
Right now though, the numbers tell a pretty steep uphill battle. XRP holds roughly 4.4% of the entire crypto market, while Bitcoin dominates close to 60%. Bitcoin’s market cap sits around $2.36 trillion — yeah, with a “T” — while XRP’s is near $177 billion. For XRP to catch up, it would have to climb more than 13 times from where it stands, which puts it around $39 a coin. Not impossible maybe, but far from easy.
The Giant Gap Ahead
Even if XRP did make big moves, Bitcoin isn’t sitting still. Analysts think Bitcoin could reach as high as $1 million per coin by the end of the decade. If that happens, its total market cap could shoot beyond $20 trillion, widening the gap even more.
That means XRP would have to leap to roughly $335 per coin just to stay competitive — a goal that even some of the most loyal XRP supporters admit might take longer than five years. Still, there’s a slice of the crypto crowd, including influencers like Coach JV, who side with Scrubs and see XRP’s potential as seriously undervalued.
What Could Push XRP Higher
There are a few key factors working in XRP’s favor. Big financial institutions and payment processors are already experimenting with XRP for cross-border transfers — one of the areas where it actually shines. With transaction times averaging about seven seconds, XRP offers lightning-fast payments at a fraction of traditional banking costs.
On top of that, rumors of a Ripple IPO and potential XRP-backed ETFs have added a fresh wave of optimism. If those materialize, XRP could pull in new institutional money and more mainstream attention, something it’s been chasing for years.
